I grew up in Duncan, Oklahoma, where most of my early years were spent either training in martial arts or working with my dad in the family construction business. Those two things taught me a lot about hard work, discipline, and paying attention to the details, lessons that still shape how I approach everything I do today.
After graduating from Duncan High School in 2002, I moved to Edmond to attend the University of Central Oklahoma. While I was in school, I started working at a mortuary service that served several corporate funeral homes in the area. It was there that I really got my hands-on start in embalming and refining my skills in restorative art. When I wasn’t in class or at work, you could usually find me training or competing in mixed martial arts.
In 2005, I helped start Francisco’s Mortuary Service in Oklahoma City with John Astle. I worked with John for about two and a half years before moving on to another funeral home in the OKC area, where I stayed for around ten years. I graduated from UCO in 2006 with a degree in Mortuary Science. For a brief time, I even considered taking a different path, took the LSAT, got accepted to law school, but ultimately decided that funeral service was where I was meant to be.
In 2017, I moved to Tulsa and worked for a local funeral home before eventually finding my way back to working with John at OMS. It’s been great coming full circle and continuing to do what I love, helping families through some of life’s hardest moments with care, respect, compassion, and making their loved one look their best for the final viewing and goodbye.
Outside of work, I’m married to my wife, Lacey, and we have two daughters and two sons who keep life full and busy in all the best ways. When I’m not working, I’m happiest just being with them, traveling, exploring new places, or doing something fun together. Around home in Jenks, you’ll probably spot us out walking with our Great Dane, Axel, who weighs close to 200 pounds and tends to draw a crowd wherever he goes.
