John Astle
Owner/Embalmer/FDIC- OKC Crematory

John started his funeral service in 1992 at Leavitt's Chapel of Flowers Mortuary in Ogden, Utah. This is where his love of embalming and caring for the deceased began. After completing his apprenticeship in Utah, he moved to Oklahoma City to get his degree at the University of Central Oklahoma, graduating in 1995. He worked in several funeral homes in the following years. In 2005, he became a full time embalmer and crematory operator. In 2018, he took over ownership of Oklahoma Mortuary Service.

Kylie Niedziela
Embalmer/FDIC-OKC Mortuary

Kylie grew up in Bettendorf, Iowa and moved to Edmond in 2010 where she attended Santa Fe High School. After graduation, Kylie went on to pursue her education at the University of Central Oklahoma. Intending to go to school for forensic science, she quickly changed her path after curiosity led her to a restorative art course in funeral service.

Kylie started her apprenticeship in 2016 at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service in Bethany, Oklahoma and quickly found her passion for helping others during the toughest trials of their lives. After graduating from UCO with a Bachelor of Science degree in Funeral Service, she joined the Crawford Family Funeral Service team and was a full-time director at Ford Funeral Service in Midwest City, Oklahoma. After a couple of years serving that community as a funeral director, Kylie had the opportunity to join the team at Oklahoma Mortuary Service as a full-time Embalmer.

In her free time, Kylie enjoys traveling to see her family, spending time with her friends and animals, her dog Mera, and two cats, Onyx and Islay.

Amy Astle
Business Manager/Funeral Director

Amy started her career in funeral service in 1996 working as a funeral attendant while working on a degree in business. While working there, she discovered her love of the industry. After graduating from USAO with a degree in Business Administration, she decided to further her education and enrolled in the UCO Mortuary Service program, graduating with a second degree in three semesters.

Following graduation, Amy began her funeral career at a corporate funeral home in the Oklahoma City metro. After working there a couple of years, she moved to a small town, family-owned funeral home and enjoyed the five years she spent working in the community.

Amy spent the next 7.5 years working as a recovery technician for the Oklahoma Lions Eye Bank.

In 2022, Amy decided to join her husband John, helping run Oklahoma Mortuary Service. While most of her duties are administrative, she maintains her funeral director and embalming licenses, and is available to work the occasional funeral service.

Michelle Miller
Office Admin/DC Specialist

Michelle has worked in the funeral industry since 2012, joining the OMS team in 2016. She has experience in the day to day operations of a funeral home. At Oklahoma Mortuary Service Michelle handles the filing of Death Certificates, transit and cremation permits, and dispatching first calls.

Ty Astle
Apprentice/Certified Crematory Operator

After having been around the funeral industry his whole life, Ty officially began at Oklahoma Mortuary Service in April of 2020 as a Certified Crematory Operator. Ty is a graduate of the University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma and is now enrolled at the University of Central Oklahoma, pursuing a second degree, this time in Funeral Service. In his spare time, Ty enjoys home projects, the great outdoors and tending to his plants and animals.

Kevin Clinton
Certified Crematory Operator

Kevin Clinton is a graduate of Northern Oklahoma College with a degree in Applied Science. He moved with his family to Oklahoma City in 2016. Kevin joined Oklahoma Mortuary Service in January 2023 as a Certified Crematory Operator. In his spare time Kevin enjoys spending time with family, friends and being outdoors.

Alpha Alex
Embalmer

Alpha grew up in Kerala, India and moved to Dallas, Texas in 2015. In 2021, she relocated to Oklahoma to pursue her college education. Alpha joined Oklahoma Mortuary Service in 2022 as an apprentice and finished her apprenticeship. She began her career as a full-time embalmer in 2024, after earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Funeral Service from the University of Central Oklahoma. In her free time, Alpha enjoys traveling to see her family, spending time with friends, and being outdoors.

Rob Murray
Embalmer

Rob was born and raised in Dumas, TX. Rob joined the USAF which brought him to Tinker AFB. After 6 years of service, and working in many high stress career fields, Rob sought a higher purpose to serve the community. Rob enrolled in Funeral Service at UCO and graduated in May 2024 with a Bachelor of Science and a minor in psychology. Rob focuses on bringing a fresh perspective to the industry and looks forward to what the future holds.

Maddison Smith
Embalmer

Maddie is a graduate of Dallas Institute of funeral service with a degree in Applied Science. She is a licensed funeral director and embalmer. She moved to Oklahoma City in 2023. She is passionate about furthering her career in the industry and serving the community. Outside of work, she likes to spend time with her friends and family.
